2026 Tryout Dates
We are only accepting tryouts for Defence and Forward at this time.
All players will be guaranteed a minimum of four skates before the first round of cuts will be made:
Skills Sessions (75 minutes)
August 27 at 8:00 PM, VRC - Gold
September 1 at 9:00 PM, VRC - Gold
September 3 at 9:30 PM, VRC - Gold
Blue and White Game (75 minutes)
September 8 at 9:30 PM, Murray
First Cuts to be made at conclusion of Blue and White Game
Practice (75 minutes)
September 10 at 9:15 PM, VRC - Gold
Exhibition Game (Home)
September 13 at 4:00 PM vs Lethbridge, VRC - IPA
Final Cuts to be made at conclusion of first Exhibition Game vs Lethbridge.
Practice (60 minutes)
September 16 at 9:15, VRC - Gold
Exhibition Game (In Bentley)
September 19 at 7:00 PM at Amazons, Bentley Arena
Practice (60 minutes)
September 23 at 9:15, VRC - Gold
Cost to Tryout is $125.00
Payment must be received prior to attending tryouts to complete your registration.

What is the cost to play for the season?
The cost to play for the Foothills Storm for the 2026-27 season will be $2000. Players will also be required to participate in fundraising initiatives to help raise additional funds for the team.

What is covered by your season fees?
In addition to the cost of ice (practices and games), on-ice officials for the 30 regular season and playoffs; your fees cover the cost of an away and home jersey, pant shells, socks and additional team branded apparel (e.g., hockey bag and backpack), transportation and accommodations for games as needed and a professional trainer at each game to support the health and well being of the players. The team will seek community sponsorships and conduct fundraisers during the season to help offset all expenses.
How many players will be on the team?
The team is permitted to carry up to 25 rostered players during the season.
What kind of commitment is there to play on the Storm?
The team will play a total of 30 regular season games and a minimum of 2 playoff games. The majority of our home games will continue be played out of Viking Rentals Centre - Gold, Okotoks Rec Centre - Murray Arena and the Scott Seaman Sports Rink.
All practices will be at the VIking Rental Centre - Gold at 9:15 PM, with one practice every Wednesday night and an additional practice every other Monday.
